Panchananpur Annual Sports

Panchananpur, 14th December 2017. The Panchananpur UP High School organized its Annual Sports Day recently. Children competed in various events like running race, discuss throw, javelin throw and traditional games like ‘puchi’,  among others. Spectators included ladies, children & men from nearby villages. The event concluded with prize distribution among the winning students. All other students received participation prizes. All prizes were sponsored by Vidya Shakti Niyas. Important guest during the event included Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mrs S Tripathy, Mrs Jolly Pattnaik (both Trustees) and other volutneers.

Sweater Distribution at Panchananpur


Panchananpur, 9th December 2017. To help little children better cope during the ongoing winters, Vidya Shakti Niyas distributed warm clothes among the students of Panchananpur Anganwadi Center. The children were overjoyed to receive the warm sweaters which they immediately put on with smiling faces. During the occasion, VSN also donated a pressure cooker & essential utensils to the AWC. Guests present during the occasion were Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary, Mrs Snigdha Tripathy, Trustee, several volunteers & staff. All present thanked VSN’s efforts towards support of education in the region.

World AIDS Day Program at Lahanda

Lahanda, 1st December 2017. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized an awareness camp on World AIDS Day in the village of Lahanda. The interactive program attended by around 38 village residents, mostly young & old ladies. Dr Arabinda Panda took an informative session on the causes, symptoms, remedies & precautions of the deadly killer disease. Preventive measures to check spread of HIV was explained to all present. A Q&A session encouraged the audience to check their knowledge on the subject with instant prizes given for correct responses. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mrs S Tripathy, Trustee (VSN), Mr Satyanarayan Nanda, Head CSR (TSIL), Mr Rajesh Das, Sr Officer CC (TSIL), several VSN volunteers & staff attended the program.

Fancy Dress Competition at Panchananpur


Panchananpur, 20th November 2017. A fancy dress competition was organized at the UP High School Panchananpur recently. The school is located at Panchananpur village, around 17 Km from Bileipada. Around 129 students from nearby villages regularly attend the school. Students colorfully dressed up in various impersonations presented themselves during the occasion. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN) & Mrs S Tripathy, Trustee (VSN) attended the program organized by several volunteers from township and village. The best entrants were rewarded with various prizes after the event.

VSN Volunteers’ Meeting


Bileipada, 8th & 22nd November 2017. In order to promote better sharing of information and to bring new ideas of improvement, Vidya Shakti Niyas recently organized two meetings with its dedicated volunteers. The meetings were organized at the VSN Training Hall. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN) presided over the two meetings in presence of Mrs Jolly Patnaik & Mrs Snigdha Tripathy, both Trustees (VSN), VSN staff & volunteers. Matters discussed include status of ongoing projects, improvements and volunteer feedback. The Secretary appreciated efforts put in by the dedicated volunteers to bring in a change in the lives of the needy and poor.

Inter School Fancy Dress Competition

Bileipada, 18th November 2017. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized an Inter-School Fancy Dress Competition at the VSN Training Hall recently. Students from 12 nearby schools participated in the competition. Contestants dressed up in colorful outfits presented themselves in front of judges, who scored them under various criteria. The best candidates were rewarded with various prizes. Guests present during the occasion were Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mr AC Nayak & Mrs S Tripathy, Trustees (VSN), several volunteers & other guests. The program ended with lunch arrangement at Lake View for all participants.

Children’s Day at Shishu Prem Nursery School

Bileipada, 14th November 2017. The little children at Shishu Prem Nursery School gathered to celebrate the Children’s Day at the school premises. The contestants presented themselves in a variety of impersonations depicting common / special characters from our lives. of A panel of judges rated the young contestants as per their costumes, confidence & presentation. The teachers, school staff & other volunteers helped organize the entire event. Guests present during the event were Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mrs Dash, Mr AC Nayak & Mr Mahesh Rathi Trustees (VSN), parents, various volunteers & other guests from the township and nearby villages.

Children’s Competitions at Shishu Prem Nursery School

Bileipada, 5th November 2017. With an objective to nourish all round development of young children, Shishu Prem Nursery School conducts various activities as a part of its regular curriculum. In this direction, activities like drawing, speech & song competitions were conducted recently at the school premises. Little children had a great time expressing their individual gifts in front of the teachers & guests. The judges had a tough time selecting the winners from the talented young contestants.

Women’s Skill Development Program

Bileipada, 3rd October 2017. A skill development program focused on young ladies was recently organized in association with Tata Sponge, at the Learning & Development Centre in the township. The orientation program intended to motivate & mobilize girls from the locality to take up Industrial Sewing Machine Operator’s training at Bhubaneswar, a joint initiative with Sahi Exports Pvt Ltd. The program was attended by 30 girls from nearby areas.

Skill Development Orientation Program

Bileipada, 25 September 2017. Skill development of rural youth is one of the key areas Vidya Shakti Niyas has been continuously working on.  In this direction, a special orientation program was organized at Learning & Development Centre in association with Tata Sponge. The orientation program intended to mobilize eligible to opt for Industrial Sewing Machine Operators training program at Bhubaneswar. The program is a residential training course conducted in collaboration with Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd. Around 50 girls belonging to nearby villages participated in the program. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary, Mrs JP Mishra, Administrator, Mr AC Nayak, Mrs Jolly Patnaik and Mrs Snigdha Tripathy (Trustees) attended the program along with Mr SN Nanda, Head (CSR) as resource person along with many other volunteers.
