The Government Girls’ School at Basudevpur was established in the year 1968 and has ever since been a center of knowledge for children belonging to weaker sections of society. The residential school has a strength of 382 students, with classes running from 4 to 10.
Vidya Shakti Niyas took the opportunity to make a difference in the life of the girls by adopting the school in 2015. In a short span of time, VSN has become an integral part of the school. Several developmental schemes like provision of water pipelines, school furniture, study material, mosquito nets, bed sheets etc help the students concentrate better on the curriculum. Promotion of extra curricular activities include sponsorship of Annual Sports. Organizing of various competitions like drawing, speech, fancy dress etc ensure that the students have all round development while studying in the school.
