Rice Farming Training

In its mission to better equip & empower the local farmers, Vidya Shakti Niyas organized a Rice Farming Training program at Bileipada on 23rd June 2016. The program was organized at the VSN Training Hall, specially built for the purpose of conducting similar programs for benefit of the community.

Around 53 farmers from the nearby villages of Panchananpur, Chamakpur, Mutuda, Birikala & Lahanda participated in the training program, conducted by Mr B Mahanta, Agriculture Officer, Ms Mitali Naik, Asst Agriculture Officer & Mr J Sethi, Ex Agriculture Officer (Joda), along with Mr Masheswar Mahanta, an expert on high yield rice agriculture.

Also present during the occasion were Ms Madhavi Deshpande, Chairperson (VSN), Ms Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Ms Ratna Chattopadhyay, Trustee (VSN), Mr SC Ray, Head CSR (Tata Sponge), along with various other guests.

The program covered various aspects of high yield rice farming, elaborating the best practices and use of scientific methodology. The farmers were presented with rice seed packets at the end of the program.
