Republic Day 2018 Celebrations

Bileipada, 26th January 2018. Vidya Shakti Niyas joined the nation in celebrating Republic Day 2018. The proud day was observed at various locations. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN) hoisted the National Flag at the Saraswati Shishu Mandir School, Bileipada, as the Chief Guest. The Tricolor was hoisted at Shishu Prem Nursery School by Mrs Ratna Chattopadhyay, Trustee (VSN) in presence of school staff, parents & all students. Mr JP Mishra, Administrator (VSN) was joined by Mrs Mishra & Mrs Chattopadhyay during the ceremony at the Jeet Fly Ash Products. The celebrations ended with address by prominent guests, prize distribution & sweets disbursement for all present.

Ladies Sports at Panchananpur

Panchananpur, 20 January 2018. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized rural sports for women in the village of Panchananpur recently. The event witnessed a large number of village ladies participating in various outdoor activities like running race, balance race, shotput throw & several fun games. Around 75 ladies participated in the  above activities. The events were followed by prize distribution among all winners. Mrs S Tripathy, Trustee (VSN), several lady volunteers from the township and VSN staff were present during the occasion.

Basudevpur Govt Girls’ School Annual Sports


Basudevpur, 6 January 2018. Vidya Shakti Niyas has been promoting sporting and games in the peripheral village schools, as a part of its rural sports initiative. Basudevpur Govt Girls’ School organized their Annual Sports in the school premises. Several activities including running race, high jump, long jump, javeline thow, discuss throw, mathematics race etc. were organized at the school playground. Around 380 girls from the nearby villages currently study at the education centre. VSN supported the event with distribution of prizes. Prominent guests present during the occasion were Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Dr Prafulla Kr Mahanta (Basudevpur Med Centre), school managment including the Head Master & teaching staff and VSN volunteers.

Anganwadi Competition


Lahanda, 5 January 2018. Vidya Shakti encourages healthy competition among various Anaganwadi centers in its periphery by awarding AWCs displaying commendable performance. An Anganwadi Competition was conducted recently, among 18 AWCs in the surrounding villages. The AWCs were rated on several criteria taking into account child attendance, learning ability, cleanliness & hygiene, child health and child growth and overall activities. AWCs coming out with best scores were recognized. The program was organized by VSN volunteers.

VSN Volunteers’ Meeting


Bileipada, 2nd January 2018. Vidya Shakti Niyas recently conducted a coordination meeting among its members. The meeting was organized at the VSN Training Hall, Bileipada. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN) presided over the meeting. Other members present during the occasion were Mrs Ratna Chattopadhyay, Mrs Snigdha Tripathy, both Trustees (VSN), lady volunteers from the township & support staff. Various matters concerning ongoing projects were discussed. The villagers’ feedback & outcome of activities were shared among the attendees. The members were encouraged to come up with innovative ideas to better utilize the resources while improving the lives of the surrounding community.

First Aid Training Certificates

Bileipada, 30th December 2017. Vidya Shakti Niyas recently facilitated First Aid Training for select ladies & gents from the surrounding villages. The crucial and life saving training was provided by Mr RN Nath, from St John Ambulance, Bhubaneswar. Over the course of the 3 day training, 45 candidates learnt important aspects of emergency response during crisis. On successful completion of the program, the candidates were recognized with First Aid Training Certificates. Mrs Chitrika Pattnaik, Chairperson (VSN) presented the certificates in a formal event organized at Learning & Development Centre, Tata Sponge township. Other guests present during the event were Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mrs Ratna Chattopadhyay & Mrs Snigdha Tripathy, both Trustees (VSN), other volunteers & support staff.
