Anganwadi Competitions

Nearby villages, April-May 2017. Improvement of pre primary education around the region being one of the primary focus areas in its educational initiative, Vidya Shakti has been organizing Anganwadi Competitions in the surrounding villages, namely Mutuda, Lahanda, Kaliabeda, Rupasahi, Karansahi, Anseikala, Sanbadbil, Panchananpur, Narayanpur, Daduan etc. All round growth is ensured through inventive teaching methodology. During the event, students were scored on various activities, judged by select VSN volunteers and Trustees, under the guidance of Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), Mrs Jolly Pattnaik & Mrs Snigdha Tripathy, both Trustees (VSN).

Adieu Friends : Heartfelt Farewell

Bileipada, 20-21 May 2017. Vidya Shakti Niyas bid a heartfelt farewell to two of its dear family members recently. Mr Sapan Bose & Mrs Debjani Rai have been associated with the charitable organization for years, working towards its goal and significantly contributing in its growth. The parting members have retired after a long & fruitful association with VSN. In formal farewell ceremonies organized at Jamnotri, Tata Sponge township, the members thanked the parting members for everything.

Awareness Session on Education

Bileipada, 13 May 2017. Education plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of the people. Vidya Shakti’s various initiatives pertaining to rural literacy have helped the unprivileged members of the community have a second chance to join the mainstream through education and skill development. An awareness cum evaluation meeting among beneficiaries was recently organized at the Vidya Shakti Training Hall, Bileipada. The program focused on child progress and issues hindering educational development. Around 30 beneficiaries shared their views during the program. Mrs Rajeshwari Nagarajan, Mr Ananta Behera along with Ms Leelawati Behera (VSN) successfully conducted the program.

Mother Child Health Awareness at Narayanpur

Narayanpur, 12 May 2017. Mother child health continues to be one of the primary focus areas for Vidya Shakti Niyas. Recently, an awareness program was organized at the Narayanpur village under Joda Block of Odisha. Dr Arabinda Panda, along with Mrs Rosalie Mishra Secretary (VSN) discussed various aspects of mother & child care among village ladies. Around 35 ladies from Narayanpur benefited from the program. During the course of the program, 32 ladies who recently underwent family planning procedure were felicitated by Vidya Shakti NIyas. The village ladies thanked the organizers for their noble initiative. Also present during the event were Mrs Leelawati Behera & Mr Ananta Behera (VSN) who helped organize the event.

Awarding of Certificates

Basic Computer Training at VSN

Bileipada, 6 May 2017. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized a felicitation ceremony for students completing the recently organized basic computer training program. Candidates successfully completing the 6 day basic computer training program were awarded certificates recognizing their new found learning. Mrs Chitrika Pattnaik, Chairperson (VSN) presented the certificates to the students, along with Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN). Mrs Pattnaik praised VSN members for their commendable effort in promotion of digital education. Also present during the occasion were Mrs Jolly Patnaik & Mrs Snigdha Tripthy both Trustees (VSN), support staff & several guests.

Sabuja Swapna : A dream of prosperity

Realizing the dream of Sabuja Swapna

Chamakpur, 5th May 2017. Sabuja Swapna is one of the flagship endeavors of Vidya Shakti Niyas towards realization of green revolution in the nearby villages. Under the program, farmers from nearby villagers are provided extensive farming training using modern technology and provision of high yield seeds. Mrs Chitrika Pattnaik, Chairperson (VSN) along with Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Secretary (VSN), all Trustees (VSN) & support staff visited the rice plantation site at Chamakpur. The visitors were overwhelmed by the outcome of the effort in form of lush green paddy plantation spanning the entire area.

The excitement of the farmers was evident as the visitors discussed the new found farming techniques with them. The villagers thanked VSN for the rewarding initiative and requested for continuation of the same in future.
