Rural Medical Camps

3 & 9 January 2017, Anseikala & Panchananpur. As a part of its health initiative, Vidya Shakti Niyas organized free rural medical camps in the villages of Anseikala & Panchananpur recently. Around 200 rural villagers benefited from the event. Visitors include rural women, children, elderly & men folk. Dr Arabinda Panda, Medical Consultant, VSN attended the patients and prescribed medicines. The patients were given free basic medicines during the program.

Enriching Rural Education

Vidya Shakti’s education initiatives include several activities to enrich the young mind of the students and to foster awareness among parents in the rural villages. Such activities conducted in recent past were;

Bileipada, 14th Dec 2016: Inter High School Essay Writing Competition was organized with participation of 11 schools with 3 participants from each school. The subject was ‘Role of Television iEssay Writing Competitionn the present time’.

Lahanda, 15th Dec 2016: Annual Sports Day was organized by Lahanda Munda Sahi Primary School. Little students had great fun participating in various events. A total of 90 students participated in various activities.

Panchananpur, 16th Dec 2016: A study tour for the students of Panchananpur UG High School was conducted. Around 41 students visited Jeet Fly Ash brick making unit at Bileipada and observed the manufacturing process.

Panchananpur, 20th Dec 2016: A Clean India Program was conducted at the adopted village of Panchananpur. Around 70 students from village UG High School, from Anseikala High School with local villagers participated in the above program, which was attended by Mr SK Mishra, (CFO), Mr SC Ray, Mr T Palei & others from TSIL.

Bileipada: Meeting between parents of students and teachers was conducted at VSN Training Hall for better communication & coordination between home & school.

Panchananpur, Basudevpur & Anseikala, 21-22 Dec 2016: Vidya Shakti distributed test papers and blankets in the Govt Girls’ High School, Basudevpur, Maa Santoshi High School, Anseikala & UG High School, Panchananpur.

Local Anganwadis,9-22 Dec 2016: Distribution of study materials in different schools and Anganwadis like, mosquito nets, blankets, solar LED home light & lanterns, cooking utensils, sports equipment (indoor & outdoor), school uniform, school bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, colour pencils, drawing sheets, water filters, test papers, wall clocks, geometry boxes, globes duris etc. Schools & Anganwadis – Govt Girls’ High School Basudevpur, Maa Santoshi High School Anseikala, Govt Girls’ High School Marusan, Lahanda Munda Sahi Primary School, Mutuda Primary School, Panchananpur UG High School, Maa Dwarasuni High School, Chamakpur, Bileipada UGUP School, Lahanda Munda Sahi Anganwadi, Karansahi Anganwadi, Kaliabeda Anganwadi.

Keeping Health First

Several free rural medical health camps were conducted recently in the surrounding villages. Village folk including women, children & elderly came to visit the camp to ease their ailments. Consultation was provided by Dr Arabinda Panda, with free distribution of basic medicines.

Nurturing Education at Shishu Prem Nursery School

Shishu Prem Nursery School has been working towards enrichment of rural education for several years. While school’s primary focus is on the academic syllabus, a great amount of time and effort is dedicated towards extra curricular activities to ensure overall development of the young minds. In this direction, several activities were conducted at Shishu Prem Nursery School recently, where the tiny tots were given different platforms to showcase their potential and nascent talents. Farewell Ceremony

Tata Sponge, 21st November 2016. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized a heartfelt farewell for Mrs Madhavi Deshpande at Lake View Recreation Centre. All members of the charitable organization including VSN Chairperson, Secretary, trustees, teachers from Shishu Prem Nursery School and support staff attended the program. The members shared their memorable experiences with Mrs Deshpande and wished good health & fortune for her entire family.

General Awareness Program


Anseikala, 23-24 November 2016. A general awareness program was organized at Panchayat Office, Anseikala to raise awareness about varoius Government Policies & Citizen Facilities. Around 40 ladies attended the program. Mr B Laguri from Bank of India, Mrs J Nanda, Basudevpur Govt Hospital, Mr Tiu, Anseikala Post Office conducted the program. The attendees had their queries resolved by the panel. The program was highly appreciated by the villagers.

School Uniform Distribution

Karanasahi, 17th November 2016. The little students of Karanasahi Anganwadi Centre were delighted to receive new school uniforms, presented by VSN. Extending its support towards rural education, the program was an effort to encourage the rural children towards increased school attendance. Soap, kitchen utensils were also distributed during the event.

Mosquito Net Distribution


Anseikala, 26 October 2016. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized a mosquito net distribution program at Maa Santoshi High School Girls’ Hostel. Mrs Rosalie Mishra, Mrs Snigdha Tripathy & Mrs Jolly Pattnaik presented mosquito nets to around 100 girl children residing at the hostel. Additionally, eating, cooking & serving utensils were distributed. The school management expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards VSN for their noble efforts.

Fancy Dress Competition at Shishu Prem School

Bileipada, 9th November 2016. Shishu Prem Nursery School run by Vidya Shakti Niyas has been conducting various programs like sports, culture etc for overall development of the child. Recently a fancy dress competition was organized at the school premises for the young children. Around 150 tiny talents participated in the event in colorful costumes, impersonating various characters from history, mythology and the society. The program was attended by the parents & other visitors who applauded the little talents for their colorful presentation. The Secretary (VSN) appreciated the efforts by teachers and organizers of the event.
