Stars of the year-SPNS

“Stars of the year-2019”, a reward and recognition function has been arranged by Sishu Prem Nursery school (SPNS) inside the school campus on 28th Feb 2020. Like every year, SPNS rewarded the meritorious students who have come up with par excellence both in studies and extra-curricular activities like sports, music & dance and other competitions during the academic year 2019-20. Out of 204 students, 70 were felicitated in overall development and 72 were awarded in sports. Parents seems to be happy and had high praise for the efforts of teachers and VSN as well.

Reward and recognition nite -TSLPL

Tata Sponge Long Products Ltd (TSLPL) organized its reward and recognition nite on 25th February’20 .The Company felicitated Vidya Shakti Niyas for its exemplary volunteering in the nearby five Gram panchayat. On behalf of volunteers, VSN Trustees received the prestigious award from Mr. Ashish Anupam, Managing Director- TSLPL.

Capacity building training program

Surrounding villagers found to know very little about the various government welfare schemes that gets announced from time to time. Thus per scheme beneficiary ratio is minimal and hence the success rate of these schemes are very discouraging. To orient and generate awareness on different Govt. schemes, a capacity building training program was arranged for 56 dalit & tribal women in collaboration with Central Board of Workers Education  (CBWE). It covered the topics like how to lead an effective Quality of life, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Sukanya Samruddi Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Eradication of social evils, Domestic safety etc.  Mr. Nagarjuna Reddy, Trainer CBWE successfully imparted the training with the active involvement of VSN volunteers.

Inter Anganwadi competitions

Education is the pillar of success. VSN has been instrumental in building the foundation block by adopting Anganwadis of its vicinity. VSN used to conduct inter-anganwadi competitions to boost the motivations of Anganwadi Workers, Helpers and Parents which is primarily based on certain parameters namely Arunima course curriculum (W & CD, GoO), health & hygiene, overall development of students, activeness of Anganwadi teachers etc. In the whole month of Nov and Dec, VSN volunteers personally visited 29 Anganwadis and facilitated various competitions. Such multiple competitive events pose challenges to each center to come out as a best performer. On 20th February, all the 29 Anganwadi workers were invited and rewarded at VSN Training Hall by Rosalie Mishra, VSN Secretary in presence of other Trustees and Volunteers. Besides the first three best overall performer, there were many categories like best Anganwadi worker, best cleanliness award etc.

Study tour program for RBC inmates

Vidya Shakti Niyas organized a study tour program for the inmates of Residential Bridge Course  (RBC) center on 19th Feb’ 20. Around 90 students along with 3 teachers guided these under privileged residents who rarely get chances to be exposed to outdoor trips. Visit to Jeet fly Ash brick unit was a unique experience for these students. Mr. J.P. Mishra, VSN Administrator and the staffs of JFAP narrated the entire process of making fly ash bricks and how the waste is being utilized for generating wealth for the society. With great enthusiasm and interest, the students came to know many practical aspects of brick making. Children also enjoyed fun filled games followed by lunch. VSN Trustees thanked the Educational volunteers for their wholehearted support.

Road Safety awareness program

‘Stop accidents before they stop you’ by following certain basic safety rules. To give a practical training on “Road Safety”, a road Safety awareness program was arranged on 12th Feb’20 on the Birikala Panchayat road. Around 15 Students and teacher of Abhiyan driving training school along with VSN volunteers actively participated in the program. They created awareness among the drivers about the benefit of using seat belt, helmet, no-use of mobile phone while driving, no-overloading and always follow speed limit etc.

VSN Annual Picnic

VSN organized a picnic cum fun filled get together on 9th February’20 at Lakeview club. All the volunteers along with their spouses were invited on this occasion.

Rural sports meet-2020

To inculcate the sporting instinct and promote rural sports in the villages, on 5th February’20 VSN conducted rural sports in Panchananpur village where about 180 women participated. The event gives a platform to the village women to come out of their daily chores and show case their inner talent. Similar event was conducted on 6th February’20 for 120 men who participated in the different games .VSN volunteers were active enough to facilitate smooth completion of these events one after the other. At the end, winners were awarded with prizes.
