Mrs Ruchi Narendran Visit

15th July 2019. A special meeting was arranged for Mrs Ruchi Narendran in VSN training hall. VSN Chairperson Mrs. Chitrika Pattnaik along with with all Trustees gave a hearty welcome to Mrs. Narendran, who also visited Abhiyan driving center & gave her valuable suggestions regarding the overall development of VSN. Several volunteers, SHG members & VSN staff attended the memorable program.

Inter High School Poster Competition

30th July 2019. Vidya Shakti Niyas organized an Inter high school poster competition for the students of rural community for classes 9 to 10. Around 30 students from 8 nearby schools attended the program. Suitable prizes were distributed after the event.

Mother & Child Care Program

VSN conducted a rice flake distribution program in the villages of Mutuda Munda Sahi, Birikala munda sahi & Panchananpur for pregnant ladies and children below two years to supplement their nutrition. Basic physical checkup was conducted with required advice given with the help of Asha Maa. A total of 38 nos of pregnant ladies & 38 young children benefited through this program.

Health Awareness Program

Vidya Shakti Niyas recently organized a Dengue Awareness Program in the village of Kitabeda on 5th July 2019, towards its health awareness initiative. Dr. Arabinda Panda conducted the awareness session which was attended by 125 villagers (OBC: 41, SC: 4). The session covered causes, spread, symptoms & precautions against seasonal diseases.

Health Awareness & Hygiene Program

Vidya Shakti has been conducting several activities for improvement on health & hygiene in the surrounding villages. In this direction, it regularly distributes rice-flake powder & soap-oil in rural schools and Anganwadi centres. Schools covered are Panchananpur UGME school, Panchananpur AWC, Lahanda Mundasahi Primary School, Lahanda Roadsahi AWX, Mutuda Mundasahi AWC, Dandabutu AWC & Kolhahundula Kolhasahi AWCs. During July, 345 students (ST: 321, SC: 7, OBC: 17) received soal-oil in this initiative.
